I was wanting to use up the Christmas cards that I have kept over the years along with the stamps that I haven't used and I thought of a great idea!

What if I could send a Christmas card to someone who was less fortunate or someone in prison and put a smile on their face to let them know that someone was thinking about them this year other than their own friends and family? Do you think I'm right in this case?

I just wish that we all could be on the same page instead of thinking only of ourselves for a change.

I've been to a hospital. There is unfortunately a lot of kids in there and they have to stay there for Christmas. It is sad because I didn't address them and when I delivered Christmas card to the kids personally the parents were very pleased. That is one way how we can brighten their day. But before you doing so, just call your local hospital to ask if it is possible. :-)

Others great idea is you could go to to the local Good Will or Salvation Army and ask them there how you would distribute the Christmas cards or Christmas gifts there. For prisoners, you can get addresses on prison websites. Just look for the prisons in your area. Be careful not to send to anyone who has been violent or done anything to children, though.:-) If you're looking for the less fortunate in your community, find the soup kitchen. You'll find lots of homeless people there. Churches will also be able to help.

Thanks for reading!

What kind of crafts could I do with my old Christmas cards?

I have a lot of old Christmas cards sent to me every year, they are so beautiful and I don't just throw them away especially since those people took the time to send them. If you need some cute ideas for crafts, here is my idea.

Well I just cuts out the pieces I likes and uses them on scrapbook pages, I also uses them to make greeting cards. I have taken a rare few with a picture or saying on it and framed it for a holiday decoration. Just cut the main parts of the pieces out and make a collage in the shape of a star or something , decorate with glitter and hang it from the ceiling like a large ornament but not for the tree. You can make place cards for dinner guests and use the pieces to make a collage, picture, scrapbook page for a friend.

hope this helpful...

Christmas Card Tutorial

Learn how you can create your own Christmas Cards. But he say that some of people threw a fit because he called them “Holiday Cards”. I don't know why? Do you think people really that touchy feel and angry because you send them holiday cards instead of Christmas cards? And some of my friends send out holiday cards to their Jewish friends, and generic "happy holidays" because they know their friends not Christian. I guess Christmas cards only for Christian, right? And holiday cards for Jewish. Do you think so?

Do you mail out holiday cards faithfully every year? I will grateful if my friends do that, its mean they remember you even they not around to celebrate holiday with you. But unfortunately today's society has caused too many people to forget that the holiday cards is one's way of saying that they care and are thinking kind thoughts about you. Sure, any holiday cards are especially appreciated by singles and elderly who enjoy being remembered at any time of the year. The holidays remind us to be more thoughtful and a holiday cards, no matter what the cost is wonderful to find in the mail with other junk mail and bills. People now call and say thank you for the lovely holiday cards. Holiday cards are also artistic and create a lovely holiday art piece for the mantle or table during this short season of good will among men.

I personally send out my holiday cards by mail. It has more of a personal feel to it then just picking something out online holiday cards. Last year I made all of my holiday cards which I got many compliments on. I also purchase Hannukah holiday cards to send to my friends that are Jewish and I think it's a wonderful idea to keep on.

For my conclusion, holiday cards and Christmas cards have its own special variety.

How should I display my Christmas Cards?

How should I display my Christmas Cards?

If you trying to figure out a cute way to display your Christmas Cards and haven't found anything that you really liked, this is some of my ideas; this really isn't "crafty" but you can always used scotch tape to tape the cards around the doorway. By the time you receive them all, the whole doorway is filled with cards and it looks really neat when you come into the house.

Fireplace mantle is a great ways to display your Christmas cards but if you don't have a fireplace mantle you can swag from, swag them across the the top of a window, could even allow the ends of the ribbon or cording or fake pine swags to trail down each side of the window, with the cards attached to those too.

A wacky idea might be to build a "house of cards" with your Christmas cards, using a glue gun or temporary adhesive of some kind. Might need to cut some of them to the same sizes, but still might be fun and would be unique. You could also sit the house on a bed of snow of some kind, like fake snow, salt, angel hair, or quilt batting. Another tips is, you can use holes to attach the cards, or even clips of some kind; those small black ones shouldn't show much in a fake pine swag, for example, or you could spray paint some wood clothespins gold or silver or red then use those to hold them on.

You can also made a hanger from strips of material and dowel rods. it looked something like this:

/ \
I_I
I_I
I_I
I_I
I_I

Just cut long 2 strips of material, painted dowel rods. Start at the bottom and put holes on each piece of fabric and slip a dowel in. Do this until it is as long as u need it then tie the top and make a pretty bow. You can made it wide enough for 2 or 3 cards and all u have to do is lay the card over a dowel when u get it!

What are some good messages to write on Christmas Cards? (Virtual Christmas Cards)

Have you ever think about what are some good messages to write on Christmas Cards?

Christmas cards are a great way to keep in touch with friends and family, as well as to strengthen business relationships. A good Christmas card is aimed at the person it is sent to but unfortunately, there is more to writing a card then signing your name to a preprinted one otherwise you are just sending out impersonal form letters with little meaning.

One of the hardest things is to decide what to write. Here are a few examples of what you can use. Remember, you can always replace "Merry Christmas" with "Happy Holidays" or "Season's Greetings." You should always write a brief message and sign your Christmas cards, even if your name is already printed on the card. The tone of your message should be appropriate, the message needs to be secular or match the person's denomination. While it can be tempting to just write "Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas," it is better to personalize the message. Keep your signature informal and if the card is from more than one person, write your name last.

If you're doing a small amount, be personal...like "can't wait to see you at ...." or "40 years and still friends...." stuff like that...something that makes it personal....if you have a ton to do, go with a standard message that you can repeat in them all "wishing you all the best this holiday season, lots of love...." etc.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://virtual-christmas-cards.blogspot.com/2008/12/what-are-some-good-messages-to-write-on.html' title='What are some good messages to write on Christmas Cards? I guess it seems like such a waste to just trash them away. Anyways you can use the pictures and some of the phrases for your scrap booking pages. Sometimes the cards make prettier backdrops than just plane paper or stickers. Christmas cards can be made into postcards if there's no writing on the back of the main picture, or place cards for the table and gift tags. Cards can also be made into ornaments or a basket to hold cards.

You can also made Christmas decoration by getting a piece of poster board, cut out the pretty scenes, lay them out so that they look nice, and decoupage them onto a backing and frame it. Then, when Christmas comes around next year, you could take a framed print off the wall and hang up the one you made that shows the holiday.

Another ways is to cut off the fronts and run them through a paper shredder, the kind that makes long strips. When you have lots of strips, mix them up and glue them to a piece of cardstock in a brick wall like pattern until you have formed an entirely new design. Use a glitter glue pen for mortar. Then you can use paper punches or scissors to cut some simple shapes like triangles “Christmas trees” or circles “tree ornaments”, hearts, gingerbreadmen, and star to decorate the fronts of cards or gift tags for next year. As for the letters and photos, just label them and put them in a small album for you or your children may be glad for the reference source someday.

Another nice thing to do with Christmas cards is recycle them by cutting off the fronts or just part of the image and mounting on folded cardstock or even on construction paper cards with glue, then they could be taken to the local nursing home for the residents to send out, or for the staff to pass out to those who never get any. Homeless shelters might also like to have them that way, or just for cheerful decoration or hanging from an Christmas tree... they could even be attached to a door or something in the shape of a tree or wreath.

It's nice to be creative but the important people who sent you cards may not always be around and the cards can generate good memories.

What are some Christmas Ideas to help those unfortunate that my church can sponsor?

What are some Christmas Ideas to help those unfortunate that my church can sponsor?

Do you seeking Ideas for a Christmas project to help needy families, including meals and toys? Well this is the few ideas that you can think of. Firstly you can have a concert in the church and take a special offering for those unfortunate, also have a special offering every Sunday just for that cause and make thanksgiving baskets for some needy family's in the community.

Another great example, in my church we has a giving tree. It has ornaments on it that we can take home decorate and donate the item listed. Some are for food, money, clothing and toys. Each ornament has the name of a person or family in need and what items would best be suited for them.

Some others things will do is if you earn or get some extra money put it away for the unfortunate, go out and shop for them, buy food, toy blanket and put up posters so every little thing helps get people around your town to help those unfortunate.

Lonely and depressed on Christmas Eve?

Lonely and depressed on Christmas Eve?

Is anyone else feeling lonely and sad on Christmas Eve? Well just try looking virtual Christmas cards maybe you will feel something... better? Maybe? I think people put so much significance on this eve? It builds up expectations and blows everything way out of proportion. How will you feel after Christmas? Do something that you benefit from and be peaceable with you. Depressed is not a strong enough speech to describe the way you feel right now. But, trust me there are others out there in the world who feel lonely just as well, just think of it.

You aren't alone. And just because there are people worse off than you doesn't make your situation great, either. I hate when uppity folks tell people to "get over it" just because we aren't starving or dying of AIDS. I've seen plenty of living rough and sick people who at least have friends and people who love them.

I think a lot of people feel down at Christmas eve, because there's so much hype leading up to it, and you feel like if you're not a part of it, that you're very much alone. Please don't feel this way, just calm down and let Christmas be no matter what is for you. Try to enjoy the time to yourself. You could even do a Christmas related interest, like bake cookies, or go out and rent a Christmas movie if you like. Otherwise, just enjoy the peace and quiet looking your virtual Christmas cards in your laptop, and remember that you are a unique person.

Thanks for reading...
